Sam Whittle and his Powertech Marine Team have travelled to Portugal to compete in the final two rounds of the 2022 UIM F2 World Championship.
Round 3 is being held this weekend in Ribadouro, a picture postcard village on the banks of the Douro River.
And it has started well for Whittle – He qualified 10th today for tomorrow’s UIM F2 Grand Prix of Baião.
However, it wasn’t all plain sailing – a rapid power head change was needed after the first free practice.
The number 1 race motor was down on power, and the team couldn’t diagnose the fault in time – The spare engine was fitted within minutes of the Q1 qualifying session.
